I will talk about recent developments in the Finnish eHealth programmes and how very low budget national standardisation efforts have resulted a full library of guidelines, implementation guides, technical papers, codesystems, etc all based on HL7/CDA XML techiques.
The most recent development is the national archive project. I will cover the current applications such as regional referral systems to national electronic health record archive and diagnostic imaging distribution. Since I'm not a healthcare professional, I would like to spend some time to talk about practical implementation issues related to creation and dispatching and receiving complex XML documents and how I have been able to solve those.
